How to reduce stress as a nursing student

Hi y'all, I am about to wrap up my first semester of nursing school in about 2 weeks and I was just wondering how you all de-stress during the semester? I've been feeling very overwhelmed and had been getting terrible head aches recently. I also feel very fatigued right after clinical- and have been taking naps very often throughout the week. Since the weather is opening up, I am planning on taking more walks outside, but I was wondering how you guys de-stressed and if you could provide any tips.

Thank you!

Stress in nursing school is crazy!! My PCP told me to try meditation but I couldn't do it without falling asleep.

Walking will help. Physical activity is a great way to relieve the pressure and anxiety. Also every day to and from school I blare my radio and pretend I'm a rock star. Get together with other students and have a b#tch session. Seriously, who better to complain with then the people that are going through it with you?

There is really no way to eliminate the stress and you probably don't have time to take an entire day to do things that mellow you out. Just steal tiny minutes to relax. The semesters go so fast you won't know what to do with yourself once you have time to sit down and do nothing.

I run to keep my stress down. Try to get enough sleep, meditate if possible, eat well (junk food only gives you less energy), stay hydrated, don't overload on coffee, try to spend some time with family and friends whenever there's a slow spot on your calendar (they're rare, take advantage when they come!). Even 10 minutes a day to yourself to just breathe can really help calm the mind.

Exercise and other diversional activities. I went out with two nursing students and enjoyed a glass of wine and each others company, bsing about just about anything. It seemed to make my hectic environment seem just 'alittle' normal therefore manageable despite so much to do.
