I start my adn program this fall and am wondering how long other students programs last. My program will last 5 semesters, it seems short from what I've heard. Any input? How long was your program? If all goes well I'll graduate early 2013.

Mine is 5 semesters as well, but the 1st one is a "prerequisite" semester so technically its not part of the actual nursing program. So I will have 4 semesters of nursing classes Fall 2011, Spring 2012, Fall 2012, and hopefully graduate May 2013 with an AAS and be eligible to take the NCLEX! Good luck everyone!! I'm terrified

For mine it is 4 semesters, but they recommend not combining the nursing courses with the pre reqs so in reality it is usually about 6-7 semesters (for an associates) unless you are brave enough to mix them.. which I was not lol

I totally understand. The pre-reqs for my program were suppose to be 3 semesters, then the school is 5. But with this program, you can't start unless all pre-reqs are done. I think it's better that way!

We have to have all our prereqs done before we can apply. The program I'm in (ADN) is either FT or PT. FT is 4 semesters and PT is 7.

8 semesters & I'm in semester 7... Nearly there.
I'm doing a dual in a bachelor of Nursing & Midwifery.
Yeah I think so too.. it is just so much info that trying to cram all the pre reqs in with nursing classes isn't a good idea. At my school, we have the option to take the pre reqs with nursing courses or do them before applying.. I had most of mine done when I got accepted. One thing that sucked for me is that I took an A&P class that had a different structure than what my school had required and I have to re take them, which I am doing right now.. back to back this summer. And I start nursing courses in September. Whew.. lol
