How to juggle Pre-Lecture Reading and Studying for an Exam?

So next Tuesday I have the first Nursing School Exam. I have lecture directly afterwards from 0930-1630. Then we get our test scores. I'm pretty nerve wracked. I have to study for my skill check-offs tomorrow, then study for my Exam, and do the pre lecture reading! I don't feel I have enough time. If push comes to shove studying will win out over pre lecture reading. What do you guys do when this happens?

I haven't come across this problem yet seeing as I just started last week. But I would think that studying would win out. Most of the time you wanna be prepared so that you don't get behind or there might be a quiz. But if there is an exam that day, there probably won't be a quiz too.

Thanks. I tried to space it out this time, so that I would have time to study..... This week that didn't work out so well. Next week may be different. I read the assigned pages the day before, but I have to read and study the studying will win. I'll try reading after the lecture this week. And see how that works.

study is defo most important, I've often showed up to lectures without pre-reading, you go to lectures to learn...once you pay attention in class it shouldn't be hard to keep up :) unless you know that your lecture will quiz you to ensure you did your pre-work, then I wouldnt worry too much, not when you obviously have other work to be doing! good luck in ur exams :)

We have quizzes every week except for the first week and the weeks we have exam. I would probably concentrate more on studying for the exam and worry about the pre-lecture readings afterwards. Don't stress out too much! I'm sure you will be fine! Good luck on your first test!!!!

Our class is set up the same way. We have lec after exams. To be honest. I do not do pre-lecture readings when we have exams. So far it hasn't harmed my grades.

I don't do pre-lecture reading either.

I usually do the pre-lecture reading because I feel like it helps sink the information in. However, there is nothing I hate more than reading material for the following test when there is a test right in front of me. So if I have a test I give up pre-lecture reading until the test is over and then try to work it in. It hasn't hurt me to miss one lecture of pre-reading so long as I pay attention in class.

I do my pre-lecture reading and take notes out of the textbook on the weekends, so when class comes tuesday - friday (im in fundamentals of nursing I) I already have the reading done. Our class lets out at 12p, so from 12 p until I go to bed I have time to review the reading notes, and study for exams.
