Hey FYG,
I'm also at home with my folks and in my last quarter of nursing school. It'll be nice when we're done and we can move on with our lives! I'm not sure if I'm gonna stay around here or relocate to another city.
Anyway, welcome to the board!

Hi all,
found this board and thought it looked okay.
I come from the land down under and am in my last year of uni I (yey with luck).
And am on placement at the moment in a paediatric ward and it is so different to any other prac i've ever had with adults there are less patients in the ward and less work to do (where i am). It is fun.
I can't believe i am about to finish uni and be thrown out on my own i have no idea how 2hrs aweek learning and practicing clinical settings at uni and a few weeks a semester have prepared me at all for the next year - i'm a great bedmaker and showerer thanx to work but i feel completely inadequate and incompetent at what we are taught to do on prac if we are even given the opportunity by some of the staff.
Anyway that's all I have to say and goodluck to all nursing students cause it really is hard there's sooo much homework and no time for a social life with all those of us who work at nursing homes to earn the money to pay off Uni which really is a pathetic amount of money (don't know what it's like in the US) but i earn $11.72 an hour for a job i trained for and could be earning $17 packing shelves or being a checkout chik- but then where would learn to find patience and time management and acceptance of the hurtful things demented people say.
:-) bye all Krissy
