in my adn program they just list next semester as nursing 2 (10 hours). 10 hours classroom plus 6 hours clinical per week.

i was also accepted into an invataion only human dissection class, have to brag on myself. lol 2 hours, but will probaly spend way more time than 2 hours per week.

to whoever is doing a&p 1&2 during summer, i'll be praying for you.

at my school they don't even offer a&p in the summer, 1 or 2.

hi peaceful, it's me nurse123456 from the aol board, anyone else here? just found this site today.

hope to make some new friends.

I can hardly believe that I am almost done with all my pre-reqs...
Right now I am in A&P and I am pulling an A- but there's two and half weeks left so we'll see.

Next semester I am taking my second semester of A&P and Microbiology. I am also taking step aerobics so I can qualify for 3/4 time although I could really use the exercise!!

And by the way...I am taking 13 credits this semester AND I have five children with only 3 of them old enough for school! Anything can be accomplished if you put your mind to it! I am hoping to get in next fall...we'll see!

Hey mom of 5 it CAN be done so you keep on keepin' on! I have 2 boys age 7 and 8 and I am hoping by the time I graduate for my BSN (I apply to clinicals next fall, still taking pre-nursing)
that my kids will be comfortable with me going back to work! I've been a stay home mom and have never needed to use daycare and I know there are hospitals that have excellent on site care so we can take the real little ones into work with us and leave them someplace close for a while! Definitely more comforting than having our kids way across town somewhere! My program at my university usually takes about 5 to 6 years, so I feel a little reassured my oldest may be able to babysit his brother for a few hours by then! Good luck to you, we deserve it! Being a mom is HARD work but it just makes us more prepared for NURSING, which I'm sure will be so much more! God Bless! Kristy

I was lucky enough to get all the "extra" classes out of the way, so all I would have to take would be the Nursing classes..

So all I am taking is: Nursing Technology I and Nursing Tech I labs (total of 8cr hours)

Basically this semester does all the intro stuff... Also go to nursing homes during this semester as clinicals to do assesments and stuff...
The next semester will begin major clinicals in surgical and obstretric areas...

    Hello,
I was originally going into the LPN program but I feel that if I put my mind to it that I can do anything. These are my classes next semester:
    English 101
    Math 098
    General Psychology 200
    Biology w/lab 103
This is a total of 14 credit hours.

I am hoping to get into the RN program by the Fall of 2002, I am just taking one day at a time.

May God Bless and Keep Us All!

    Hi all,
As you can see im fairly new to these boards. So a little intro from me. I am 40 y/o mother of 3, married 22 years in May. Finishing my last semester of ADN program this spring at comm. college, after bridging from LPN of 10 years. Hopefully I can finish the BSN with a online program here in my state.

Has taken a while, seems like forever actually. Going part-time until this semester has made things a bit easier with family. All i have now for next semester is

    Nursing 202 (9 credit hours)
    Pol. Sci. (3 credit hours)

To all of you just working pre-reqs, good luck and believe in yourself. To those of you who will be heading for graduation in the spring,, congratulations. For those of you in the middle of your programs, hang in there i know those late night study sessions are H*** when you have early clinicals the next day, but you can do it.

This semester is almost over with... FINALLY! I have had 3.5 very stressful years, and the light at the end of the tunnel is getting a bit brighter. I have had an average of 17-18 hours per semester since I started, and next semester (MY LAST SEMESTER!!!!!) I have 12 hours, which is my lightest load yet!!! I purposefully push myself the past 3 years so that I could have a lighter load when I was preparing to graduate, for house hunting, job hunting, etc. Its finally here! May cant get here soon enough

So, now on to the point of my post, what are we taking next semester? Do you think you will like it? Why and Why not

    Here is my schedule

    Nursing Research - 3 hours
    Psychiatric Nursing - 5 hours
Emergency Nursing Clinical Elective - 2 hours
Practicum in Nursing Reseach - 2 hours

    Mondays:
    Psychiatric Nursing 8:30-10:30
    Nursing Research 10:30-11:20

    Tuesdays:
Psychiatric Nursing Clinicals 8:00am-4:30pm (Until I reach 120 contact hours.)

    Wednesdays:
    Nursing Research 10:30-11:20

    Thursdays:
Emergency Nursing Clinical (12 hour shifts until I reach 180 contact hours)

    Fridays:
    Nursing Research 10:30-11:20

Looks pretty good to me!!!! Besides having to log 300 hours of clinical time this semester, this is going to be a nice, low stress (hopefully I wont be eating those words) semester. I only have 2 classes that have tests!!!!! woohoo!

Incase you cant tell, im a wee bit excited

I have other reasons to be excited too, but that will come in a different post

    Hugs to all!
    BrandyBSN
