Hey December Grads....how's the last semester going?

Hey all! Our final exam is on Halloween and I cannot wait!!!! :w00t:We technically have 11 days left of class (including clinicals), and that is it! Within that time we have one more exam and a final, a few papers that need to be written and several more assignments. This week we are on fall break and because everything has been so hectic this semester, I sooo needed it! Everyone is starting to get on eachothers nerves...I guess it's senioritis. :uhoh3: After Halloween we will complete our 120 hours of precepting, but we don't have any more lecture or have to return to school until our pinning ceremony (Dec. 14th)!!!! :balloons: We won't have our graduation ceremony until May because our school only has one a year. Atleast we're having a pinning at the end.

So, I was wondering how everyone's semester was faring and what your schedule looks like? Are you getting excited and as ready for it be over as I am? I'm so burned out!!!!!!! Bring on the FINAL!!

Our final for this class ( M/S 2) is on the 15th. There are 3 lectures left . Clinical is done Then we have the rest of that week off and come back to start the last class (M/S 3).

As for how it's going- I hate this class. I am doing fine in it- high B average but this class has already claimed 3 victims and probably more after the final and it really STINKS to be losing people I have come to know and love this late in the game

65 actual days until it's ALL Over. 65 days. WOW

Specializes in CVICU.

Congratulations on your accomplishment! I was set to be pinned in December and graduate in May but I did not pass the ATI test for pharmacology so I am repeating that class and my internship and leadership class was pushed back to January. :bluecry1: I will still graduate in May with my cohort but it sucks, I am super bummed. I am glad that this will be my LAST clinical rotation. Psych nursing is NOT for me all though it is extremely interesting:p.

The good news out of all of this is that a local hospital called me to ask if I was still interested in a Nurse Extern II position in their Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit. :roll

I must admit that I am really nervous about being in an ICU as I find it overwhelming.

Right now I am in Theory on Monday from 9a until 1255p and then I have clinicals on Tuesday and Wednesday morning from 645a until 3pm and then pharmacology on Saturday from 10a until 1245p. I cannot wait for this to be over for good. I'm losing my drive with all of this work, I'm just ready to be a REAL NURSE!

Specializes in Geriatrics, Cardiac, ICU.

It's going to slow for me. We are pinned Dec. 13th and graduate Dec. 15th.

I HATE these two online classes I'm taking...too much busy work.

My leadership class is fine and so is preceptorship, but I'm so ready to be done.

I am SOOOO ready for this experience to end. I have severe senioritis. This has been the worst semester thus far, but thank God it's the last. The reasons this semester sucks so bad:

Peds: Wednesday 9am-1130am

OB: Wednesday 12pm-2pm

Peds/OB Lab: Every 3rd Wednesday 215pm-6pm

Clinicals: Thursday & Friday till Oct. 11th

Work: Monday, Saturday, Sunday (25-30 hours a week)

Community: online with TONS of busy work due each week

Leadership: online with TONS of busy work due each week

Kaplan: 15 week online course with Q Trainers due every other week

Preceptorship (120 hours): starts Oct. 12th and is concurrent with Peds, OB, Community, and Leadership lectures still going on and Kaplan still due every other week

PLUS we have to pass a Peds HESI, OB HESI, and Final Cumulative HESI to graduate

OMG! Is it December 15th yet?:o

Specializes in Urgent Care.

Doing fine, but not as focused as past semesters. I have 3 more weeks of clinical, then on to preceptorship. Pinning is Dec 19th. 2 monts, 1 week and 6 days... LOL:lol2:

Specializes in LDRP.

Well, I'm pretty exhausted. I have 4 more weeks of clinical and provided I do well, I wrap up the semester with some exams and then graduate on Dec. 17th. Just trying to push through here. It will be such a relief when I am done.

Specializes in L&D, Antepartum.

I can't believe its almost over! It feels like I just started nursing school and here it is almost done. I have clinicals on Mondays 6a-5:30p until 10/29, 11/5 is preceptor seminar. We can do our first preceptor shift on 11/9. OMG, just about a month away! We have two more exams and the final is 12/11. Pinning is 12/15!!!!!!!

During preceptorship we have to go every Wed from 10a-12p for seminars that groups from our class are putting on. That's the only thing we have to do during that time.

Wow, I can't believe how fast this semester is going. Also, I have a New Grad interview on Tues AM. I hope I get the job!!!

I want to congratulate all of you and I wish you all the best!!

ICU...that's awesome. You are going to learn so much! I can't believe they are making you take it over because you failed an ATI. We take ours until we pass. Hang in there, you will get there sooner than you think. Keep your eyes on the prize.

Specializes in NICU/L&D, Hospice.

I have 2 clinicals to go, two weeks of critical care (med/surg II) lecture with one more test and the final on Oct 18th! This has been my hardest semester by far. 120 hours of preceptorship and a Weds class for professional topics lasts until Dec 5th. Pinning on Dec 9th!!!!!! Unbelievable!

Your schedule kinda sounds like mine. We are doing OB/Peds as well and have a lot of community stuff to do too. Busy work, lots and lots of busy work. AHHHHHHHHHH! Where's the Calgon?
