Help! Has Anyone Taken Anatomy Without Bio 101 First?

  1. i have taken bio 101 but it was more than 10 years ago, should i skip bio 101, or take it again? i spoke with nursing advisor she said it would be ok to go straight to anatomy , but im wondering if it really would be hard on me . does anyone feel that bio 101 definitly helped them out with anatomy? thank you for your help

I am taking A&P1 and I have never taken BIO 101 and I am doing okay. You will do fine just read your book.

Just do it because you can!

The only bio I had before taking Anatomy was in high school and I did really well in the class. The key is to study and not put it off!!!

    Hi Roxanne!
I took Bio in high school but that was about it too. I spoke w/ my counselor and she said Anatomy was fine. I remeber you from yesterday, but I dont remember are you getting your LVN or RN? I asked about this but not one person had responded yet.

I agree with the other posts.

As long as you have a general understanding of the cell, you should be fine.

When I took A&P, it had been almost 10 years since I had taken general biology, and I did just fine.

    Good luck to you.

I'm 38 and I've already taken A&P I and II. The only time I had Bio was in high school a thousand years ago. (Well, not a thousand, but it feels that way! ) Believe me, I didn't remember any of it, and I managed to get A's in both classes. I just had an excellent instructor and studied my behind off! And for me, it's all about hundreds of notecards!

I totally agree with the notecards! I never took Bio and got an A in A&P I. I studied about 12 hours a week and did HUNDREDS of flash cards and carried them with me wherever I went! Good luck- you will do GREAT!
