They gave us our book list, etc for spring after our last final for the fall semester. We were also told to bring our syllabi to school on the first day of class, but alas - they're nowhere to be found on any of the school websites.
Here's what I have to buy for spring - and of course the latest and most expensive versions. Ugh!
Wong's Nursing Care of Infants and Children (Hokenberry)
Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing (Fortinash)
Cultural Diversity in Health and Illness (Spector)
Cultural Care: Guides to Heritage Assessment and Health Traditions (Spector)
Maternity and Women's Healthcare (Lowdermilk)
Clinical Nursing Skills Basic to Advanced Skills (Smith/Duell)
Leadership Roles and Management Functions in Nursing: Theory and Application (Marquis/Huston)
Also required is Sparks/Taylor Nursing Dx Reference Manual, but I already bought that one last semester - just because it's so handy! Whew!
Despite being told we'd have all the books we needed last semester for most of the program ($1000 worth!), now I have those additional ($600) books to order and I don't get my student aid refund back until after Jan 24th. Of course, class still begins on Jan 10th and we have to have nearly $100 cash on that day for our LSRN exam fee and the state nursing summit at the end of the month. I swear - the expenses just never end, and my pockets are pretty shallow this time of the year anyway...!
