I know now that it is just a matter of days, I bought my cap and gown Friday! I tried it on in the store and I couldn't believe it! I ordered my announcements and went shopping for a dress for the pinning ceremony today.

I sent my check for my temporary license ($35) and for the NCLEX ($200!!!!) This is the most excited I've ever been about being broke!

How about all of you, how are you doing???? These last few weeks are going to go fast. My final is May 7th.

Good luck to all of you!

Gator

Hopefully I will be in the same boat as you 2 years from now!

You must be thrilled! Congratulations on making it through and good luck to you!!!

:balloons:

congrats gator!

you've worked hard. enjoy every minute of this. :)

Gator it is an exciting feeling isn't. I already have my announcements and cap and gown ordered. I already sent the money for my temporary license. I just have to pay the $200 to take NCLEX and send in the paper work for that.

I am currently in my capstone clinical on Med-Surg and I never thought I would say this but I LOVE it. IT is so great doing what I am doing, there is a wide variety of patients and people and there is so much to see and do. The nurses there on this particular unit have been there for years and they love what they do. It is also where I accepted my first job on the Med-Surg unit. It is primarily medical but they do get some post-surgical people if they started out on that unit as a medical patient. The big plus for me with doing this 6 week capstone is the fact that I am pretty much getting oriented to the unit so after graduation I will already be pretty much oriented to the unit plus I will still get my 9 week orientation as a new grad to the unit. It is a great feeling to know that many things are coming together. I did not think it would happen but so many things are starting to make sense now. However, I still have lots to learn and will have lots to learn for years to come.

We don't have any finals. We are pretty much done in the classroom setting. The only things is in May we are taking a critical thinking post-test. Our first semester the first week they gave us a critical thinking test and it is a test that is non-graded the test see how well we critically think and then at graduation test we take the test again to see how much we have improved with critical thinking.

The pinning ceremony is May 17th and Graduation is May 18th. I am getting so excited.

I take my final tomorrow then all I have left is my preceptorship in L & D and a preceptor journal. I am so excited!!! Our pinning ceremony and graduation are both on May 16th. As excited as I am to be done, I am getting depressed about not seeing my new best friends that I have been in school with for 2 years. I mean once we are done tomorrow, we won't be seeing each other 3 or 4 times a week. I am hoping we will all still be able to get together once we start our careers. I know I should be happy but these ladies have been my support system and best friends. I guess I should just look to the future and be happy that I made it!!!

Congrats to all who are graduating, you all deserve it!!!!

HUGS!

SARA

Sara, I know exactly what you mean about missing all your friends at school. We have been through so much in the last 2 years together (separations, marriages, divorce, deaths in families and even the birth of 2 babies!) we have weathered the storms and made it and I personally respect the people I go to school with so much. We often joke, "what other major on this campus gets up at 4am to drive 70 miles to be at clinical at 6:30 in the morning??" no one!

Peaceful, I wish you the very best in Med/surg. You will do great! I hope that it is everything that you want it to be! I have to take the mosby's assess test. It is supposed to be an indicator of how well we'll do on the NCLEX. Good luck with your critical thinking exam.

Rena, you too have worked hard, Good luck with finals!!

KrisMac, Good luck to you with school. The next 2 years will be some of the best of your life. I wish you much success!

Best wishes to you all!

Tonya,

I am so dang proud of you!! I don't graduate until June 11th but it's finally happening for us!! :) Glad you're liking your capstone in med/surg. I start my last med/surg clinicals on April 30th on a Renal floor.

I'm 1 1/2 years away from graduation, but reading these posts, I feel pretty confident to say that I am going to be crying tears of joy when I try that gown on!

Congratulations to all of you graduating!

Wow, congratulations to all of you! This is making me SO excited about two years from now when I graduate!! The students in my class are just now beginning to form a bond, and it is really special. Good luck to you all!! :kiss

I bought my cap and gown yesterday:) woowho:)

I am done with finals, I will most likely be ending with 2 A's and one B this semester(remember how I was affraid I didn't pass my test:) More good news....I got hired at my first choice job!!!!!! It's on telemetry(step down from the ICU) yay

Now all I have left are all those annoying things you have to do before graduation(library skills, loan exit session, getting tickets for senior dinner, etc, more paperwork)

Even though it is so close I feel like it will never get here!

Well after 5 loooong years soon to be BSN on May 10th:)

Congrats to everyone, nursing is a tough program.

Wow! How exciting! A big CONGRATS to you!
