Got to do CPR today

  1. 0 Wow! We weren't at clinical but maybe 15 minutes when a code blue was called on our unit. We rushed up there and they told us to grab gloves and rotate compressions! None of us had done it before! I was the 4th one in and knew the pt was gone, but all I could think was "Don't break a rib" O_o

Geez, I did my practicum in the ED and I work there now, I still haven't had an opportunity to do CPR on anyone. I'm a little jealous, lol.

Pushing on corpses isn't as glamorous as it sounds.

Crazy! That is cool though that you got to experience doing cpr, especially early!

We learned that if you're not at least popping the ribs out of the sternal cartlige, you're not going deep enough.

Yes in my last CPR class they were saying the same thing...they used to discourage that years ago.
