Good summer reads (related to nursing/nursing school)

So I (like many others) have been in school nonstop since the summer of 2007. I thought a post would be a great place for everyone out there to list some of their favorite books related to nursing school and why. I am going to be having surgery in two weeks and will need something to keep me busy PLUS I want to keep my mind in the game. My last year of the RN program starts in September! The college is going to provide us with a "recommended" summer reading list in June but until then, I thought some good books on strategies to improve test skills, clinical skills, or just survive nursing school in general would be more useful than the TV habbit I fear I will develop.

I read How to Survive and Maybe Even Love Nursing School ( I believe that is the title, I lent it to a friend)
I liked it because it was written by a nurse, it had some humor in it, and much of what she said seems to hold true. I read it prior to starting my first year of school, some some of the information I didn't take as seriously as I should have (you know the "that wont happen to me" syndrome...lol)

So anyone else have books to recommend?

I read some on culturally competent care. I find the differences in culture facinating. The nursing made incredibly easy magazines are fun reads and informative too. I bought a book on EKG interpretation to read.

I'm reading several different books right now, which are all medical or nursing-related. One is Kaplan's 'How to Survive Clinical', but obviously, you're past that point! I am also reading 'Caring for Patients From Different Cultures'. There are quite a few different cultural groups inthe small city where I live, and the nursing instructors have already been stressing the importance of learning about them.

Have you read any Echo Heron books? I have a couple of other books that are non-fiction and about nurses (don't remember the names) that I find with all the other nursing books at the book store. Amazon.com has a few I've never heard of before, too.

Have a fun summer!
