Many thanks to all of you for fantastic advice!
I spoke to the Nursing dept. today and learned (in advance of my acceptance letter) that I have been accepted to an accelerated program - hurray! I'll take my first class in January, and will have to do a crazy dance with the only pre-reqs I have to take in the Fall, but I'm in. However......
I also just added up the cost and I'm feeling faint! Yes, yes, I saw the $$$ before but that was before I was accepted. This is what I need:
1) What's the cost per credit of your courses for those going for the BSN?
2) A boost from those of you in an accelerated or regular BSN program, telling me it's worth it :) I will have my BSN in June, 2005.
This group is a lifesaver!

You can do it Kristin! I'm going into my last quarter of an accelerated BSN program and I can't wait to graduate! My program is 20 grand, plus I had to borrow money for living expenses. Fortunately I have found a hospital that is going to repay some of my tuition for a 3 yr. committment. You may also be able to find some tuition assistance. It will definitely be hard, but it's worth it.

Well, they still haven't told us what our tuition is going to be for the fall, but last year it was about $85 a credit hour.
Good luck! We'll be graduating at about the same time!

Yep, looking into the tuiton reimbursement, thanks! It's looking like $20K here as well. Gee, remember the days of the original BS (no kidding) when you could actually pay for your classes?
$85/credit? Sssshhhh, don't post on this thread :)

Did ya'll really think it wouldnt cost much. Now 30 yrs ago it was a different story.
Sure but I have a host of "rationalization" mechanisms that I take out for an airing every now and then. :) Remember too, I'm comparing private university cost to state and cc - no contest!
I'm also spending a fortune on my kids' school and pre-school, and hoping there are others in the same situation. I feel as though I had my chance at school and I blew it; therefore, I shouldn't be spending now.

I enrolled in a BS/MS program at 3500 all paid up front which gave me a 1200 discount.
