I know there are a few posts already about the topic, but I am wondering if any students had any ideas to share.

I am finishing up my preceptorship this week and want to get a little something for my preceptor. She has been amazing, wrote me an awesome recommendation letter, and just got into CRNA school! She's also getting married next year, so I'd just like to say congratulations and thank you.

Anyone have any ideas?

My preceptor eats EXACTLY the same thing every day for her meal, so I think I'm going to buy her a stack of Lean Cuisines and give her some coupons for the yogurt she eats (since my hubby eats the same stuff by the gallon, and we have a ton of hard-to-find coupons for them). I'll also include a hand-written thank you card. I think the Lean Cuisines will give her a good laugh.

I got mine a new, handmade lanyard. Was beautiful and she very much appreciated it!

My preceptor used a certain type of pen which she kept losing. I got her a pack. Got a couple laughs :) I also gave her a hand written thank you card and a necklace (which was personal for her).

I gave mine a gift card for a restaurant that she kept talking about, she really appreciated it. Any idea that is unique to their taste is a good idea- and I would say always include a hand written note to let them know how much you appreciate their time and effort.

Definitely a handwritten thank you card of some sort for sure. Beyond that, it's whatever you know they would appreciate. In the past, I have pulled together with other clinical group members to combine money and get nice gifts. We have done a bouquet of orchids (her favorite flowers), a gift card to her favorite restaurant, a plant (that lady was just hard to buy for, though, haha), and the current instructor is getting a nice lunch bag filled with her favorite snacks.
