Free Nursing School in Washington DC?

  1. 0
Last year I heard about a school in the DC area that would pay for nursing school and housing if you agreed to provide them with one to two years of work in the city after graduation. Does anyone else know about this? If so, I would love some information because I am highly interested. Thank you.

i think just about any HOSPITAL will do this. its called tuition reimbursement. you work a certain amount now to qualify, take the course, show them your grades, they pay you, you work for them after you graduate for X time length

Tuition reimbursement usually means an employer including a hospital will reimburse you for your tuition expense up to a certain dollar amount per year. It doesn't necessarily mean there is no out of pocket expense. There is no service requirement for tuition reimbursement.

Some hospitals have fellowships or loan forgiveness programs in return for years of service after graduation. You'll usually find these in private hospitals. So you might be thinking about something like this. You can probably find that info by going to hospital nursing program websites in DC.

I don't know of training programs that include housing allowance other than if you are in the military.
