For those of you who just graduated in May

  1. or with in the last year if you would like to tell us.

How are you! It would be nice to hear from all of you. Let us know how you are? When will you take the NCLEX-RN of NCLEX-PN. How is the job going as a graduate nurse and how does it feels in general to be through with school. What area are you working and do you like it or not?

Did you take a review class or just going for it?

Are you still keeping in touch with some of your classmate. Don't leave us "hanging"!

That should have been NCLEX-RN OR NCLEX-PN.

I graduated in May as a GN and am still waiting for my sit-pass to take my boards. I did not take a prep class because I could not afford the $300 to take it. I have gotten together with a few classmates and we have studied. A few people that I know have taken it and said it wasn't that bad. They said there was a lot of questions like "You have these pts, which would you go see first..." Not a lot of specific disease processes questions, but you have to know the disease processes in order to answer the questions.
I just got hired in NICU as a GN. I am excited and nervous. Looking forward to getting the NCLEX and getting it over with.

I spent the last week going nuts because i got my sit pass from NCLEX before my letter from the testing service saying i could test. The CTS letter should have preceded the NCLEX letter by 2 weeks. I went through the garbage before they picked it up thinking someone may have tossed it by mistake(not there). So i resigned myself to the fact i would have to call and see if they would fax it to my employer so i could start unit orientation. It did come on monday, so now I just have to get on the phone and arrange my test time.
I just started classroom orientation this week at my old hospital and will be working a full-time float position for now. I most likely will settle in one area before to long, but havent found something that strikes me right yet.

Well I graduated on May 17th and I'm scheduled to take the NCLEX-RN on June 24th. Today I tried calling to see if I could move it up a week, but there weren't any openings. Some of my classmates took the Kaplan review course, but I am taking an online course for 3 weeks at www.nclex.com. I also have the Saunders review book and CD. I will probably start getting nervous a couple of days before.

It feels good to be out of school, but I am still spending at least 3 hours a day reviewing for the test and preparing myself for my new job. I start on a telemetry unit on July 8th. I went for my pre-employment physical today so it seems a bit more "real" now. I do miss seeing all of my nursing classmates and have only talked to a couple since school has been out.

I'll keep ya posted on how I make out on my test!

    Good luck to everyone!
