by brassguy Oct 9, '12Hey all! I am in my first semester of NS and as a part of our program we have to do, at minimum, one flu shot clinic. With that being said, we have never done any IM injections on human beings and I am nervous to do it! Any advice?

- Oct 9, '12 by classicdamethe trick is to pop it in fast. Don't worry. Most people will not realize if you are nervous.
- Oct 9, '12 by iluvpathoIt's definately not that bad. My suggestions look at the person before administering. Not everyone needs the same length needle and remember you can use a shorter one if necessary or not stick it all the way in if they're pre-filled. Of course you can angle as well. Basically, it's really not that hard just be quick and smooth. Have fun!

- Oct 9, '12 by PinkCupcakeYou will do great! Remember to aspirate first! My friend and I were giving flu shots a few weeks ago during our clinical and she drew up blood on her 2nd pt!
