Today was day one of my BSN program. I have worked for years to get here. I am excited to actually feel like I am "becoming a nurse" finally. But WHOA...the quantity of scheduling info and syllabi and just the MASSIVE amount of details was pretty intense.

Anyone else just start? How are you feeling?

I'm the strangest combination of happy/excited and utterly terrified! lol

I started yesterday in my BSN program and I feel the same way! I had my first lab today and it was so overwhelming and exciting!

A healthy bit of caution mixed with your excitement is a good thing. The caution will help you to stay alert to your responsibilities not only to your instructors, but also to your patients. I'd bet you'll do just fine. Good Luck and have fun!!

I am in an ADN program. I started last January and will graduate in May 2013. I can tell you I stay overwhelmed and exhausted. The best thing for you to do is make sure the "busy" work is done first, this allows you to concentrate on studying for exams, clinicals, and care plans. This has worked for me, however nursing school is exhausting and overwhelming. It is not easy, if it were, everyone would do it. Good luck to you!

I started on Monday in my BSN program. I feel the same way that you do but am very excited to be back in school. I previously attended an ASN program and was in my second last semester and failed by 0.2. The school that I am at now is amazing and I feel as though I can succeed and graduate from this institution. I wish you tons of luck with your program and wishes for a productive semester. It does get a bit overwhelming in the beginning but as the semester progresses it should get slightly easier.

I have 8 months of my BSN program left. I have been (and still am!) where you are. I remember sitting in that first class thinking (oh my gosh these next 2 years are going to go sooooo s-l-o-w! And, just like that.....May 2013 is 8 months away. I have 2 clinical rotations left, and 4 classes. Now the panic of "Am I , will I, pass the NCLEX!!" is starting to set in.
