My "Congratulations" paper within the packet that I picked up at FCCJ specifically stated that I was enrolled in the "evening" and "weekends" program. So if you do not see this written there, I can only assume you are enrolled in the day program. On another note, if anybody would like to switch to evenings and saturday let me know and maybe we can figure something out.

Another question - If I order my stethoscope from Meridy's along with my uniform and lab coat, do you think it will come in before August 31st? I know on the Meridy's form it says that September 15th is the "approximate order ship date", so I was thinking if I order a stethoscope there that I wouldn't receive it until then.

Good luck to all and see you guys at Orientation

Just to let everyone know
THE SKILLS KITS ARE IN, but they only have 35 so hurry to get them!!

Also, I know someone was talking about them giving away skills kits at orientation, but that is not true, I asked the lady there and she said they are not going to orientation and looked pretty puzzled about my question. So get yours before they run out. I got mine today and it has all kinds of cool things in it like things for doing an iv and needles. I feel bad for the guys though because they come in various styles of bags and they are all pretty girly.

Does anyone know if they make ID's at Kent campus??

My letter didn't say. I know prior semesters mentioned a sticker on the envelope that says days or nights and weekends, but I didn't have that either...weird. Maybe I'll give them a call next week.

I had my blood drawn on the 5th and I was told the results should be in on Mon. the 10th. The staff at the clinic said that the lab runs the blood on Mon, Wed, Fri. So I would assume that if you go Mon you will have your results by Fri? But we all know what assuming does.... You can call them and double check but please hurry with what ever you do we are all running out of time to get this stuff done.

I'm wondering about the student IDs at Kent as well, it's a lot closer for me - if they just have to be done by the start of class and not orientation do you guys think its possible to get it done on campus the day of orientation?

One more question on pocket organizer...is it the nylon organizer kit ($12) or the pocket pal($4) on the meridys.com site? Anyone find this elsewhere?

And the skills kit says to call and pay for it when you pick it up...pick it up at the address listed for their store or somewhere on campus?

Thanks. I made the mistake of thinking that I could do the physical and titers at the same appt at my doctors office. But time won't allow that. I think I am going to call Solantic tomorrow to see how long it takes to get results. I read on their site that they do titers and they are open on Saturdays. Maybe I can get them done tomorrow. I have everything else done. And I thought I had this titer thing under control, but apparently not. What a headache.

Im not sure when we have to get the id for, but to get the skills kit you have to go to stat line which is on haines street, the address is in the packet. Its kinda scary and doesnt look like it would have medical supplies, but it does lol. Just look for a bunch of old, broken ambulances parked inside some really tall chain link fencing.

I guess if your in the day program it just doesnt say anything, but if you are in night/weekend then it specifies. Im pretty sure Im in the day program b/c mine didnt specify, but I put on my app that I only wanted days.

I don't think stat-line comes to orientation to give the skills kits away, I think the nursing department has some that they give away. But I woouldn't depend on that. I'm going to try to get mine on Monday.
AmberFCCJ, I am in the same position. I have my physical scheduled for Wed and was going to have my titers drawn then, but reading the posts I think that is too late. I did do a search for forums about titers at FCCJ and I found some posts that said if we don't have our results in time for orientation to not sweat it, as long as you show that you've had them drawn and you have positive results by the 8th week when clinicals start then you should be fine. But I am not trusting that 100 percent. That could just be someones opinion and not fact. Solantic opens in 15 minutes and I am going to give them a call and inquire about how long it takes for results and I will let you know what I find out.

OK, I called Solantic. They said that you can come in today to have titers drawn, but to come before 11. They get picked up at noon. If you wait to come in after noon you might as well come in on Monday b/c the blood will be no good for running tests after sitting all weekend. They should have results in 24-72 hours. So that is what I am going to do. They may be more expensive than other places, but the clock is ticking.
