I am writing an ethics paper on the scope of practice in rural nursing and am allowed to use any resources I choose for my data. I am leaning toward the issue of when to step over the line and when not to when it could save someones life. I work as an LPN in a very small hospital (critical Access)with the closest major hospital being a two hour drive.I often work night shift with the entire place being staffed with myself and 2 RN's. we have a doctor on call and not in the building (have to page them and cross your fingers and wait for a call back) and trying to get help in a major situation being slim to none. Any stories , thoughts or just general comments would be great!

...have you hit the library to look up what other people have identified as ethical issues?
