I never heard of such a thing! ....Nor did I need it.

I did by the book packs, but nothing extra from the book store, except the HESI book during 1st semester.

Did you guys have to buy a dvd for $289 from the bookstore for an NCLEX review? If it is not required, I am soo tempted to return it!
Not a DVD - there was a yellow card for a live HESI review. There was a PracTest code that was supposed to be an NCLEX review that I didn't use. I forget how much the book box was for 4th semester, but we had a total cluster in that they didn't include the management book and crap like that. If you feel like you have enough NCLEX review material then return it....at least I would.

The 4th semester packet, not book box, which consisted of The Nursing Today Transition and Trends textbook plus the Nursing Today code, a user Guide for evolve, duh, and evolve online case studies, the same ones we had in 2nd semester which I already had and never used, and the DVD testing module for NCLEX. The book and 3 codes= $100.95, and the DVD= $282.65 for a total of $415.25 :flmngmd:!!!! Not to mention tuition was over $500 and not to mention that the HESI review is $145!!! I am just at the end of my rope, all that is left for me to do is jump! I guess they are making sure to make for-sure, for-sure that we are completely sucked bone dry by the end of the semester. Did you know that the 1st semester book box is now around $800!!! What a rip...the whole dang program is a rip !!!

Yeah - we all felt screwed too. You should be able to sell your case studies to someone else in the class who doesn't buy the book box....you don't need them until a few weeks down the road. Keep the faith though - you're almost out of there!!!

Thanks Yang. They always make it seem like you need the box and if you don't get it then you will not have what you need. Gahh, I am such a sucker!!! Did I tell you that my psych clinical is with Grey at Green Oaks, oh what fun. I just want to scream and do this . I just have a feeling those 6 days are going to be hell! Hope I can bear with her...and probably a $%^* load of paperwork to do

Well, the bundled the HESI review with our book box, and put something (I can't remember what it was now) in the book box that we couldn't initially get on its own.

What a mess. Plus, unless they make major changes, the HESI review was a joke.

I heard horrible things about Grey - not that I haven't gotten to spend my own quiet time with her lol. She knows exactly what she wants on the movie she has you do the major care plan on. I didn't have her or I'd give you some tips, but several had to redo their major care plan with her for a 78 because they failed it the first time. Not trying to freak you out, but try to get her into conversation about "A Beuatiful Mind" before she assigns it. :typing

Well....I PASSED! My goal was to start my internship as an RN and I made it, by a couple days...hehe....The other two (from ECC) that took it the same day as me passed also! It's a party now ....if only I felt like it. I've been fighting a horrible cold since Tuesday night.

:clphnds:Contratulations Yang, I didn't have ANY doubts about you passing...did you?

The psych major careplan is from a movie? Huh?? OMG, I thought you said this semester was the easiest and the best!!! You promised and everything
Well psych is 1st, maybe it can only get better from there... Hope I don't end up being a psych patient!! It was the lesser of 2 evils, either psych with Grey or M/S with Chatman. I didn't know which was worse so I closed my eyes and pointed.

I didn't really doubt it, but you know how it is. If you expect the worst, you aren't disappointed...lol. You chose the lesser of 2 evils for sure! But yes, Grey does her major careplan from a Beautiful Mind. She has for years and knows EXACTLY what she wants for the careplan. It is so bizarre, I know. But it is a short period of time, and you can still make an A even if she screws you on that. This will be the easiest and best....I still promise....lol. Don't panic yet!

Yes Yang, I must admit that the RN behind your name is quite pretty indeed ...you are soooo funny!!!! Oh thank goodness that I picked the lesser of the 2. If the lady knows exactly what she wants for the careplan, I hope that she will be willing and able to convey that information to us in an understandable manner. I have had those that know what they want in their own heads, but could not put it into words well enough for the class to get a clear understanding!

So Yang did you have a lot of SATA questions and meds on your test? Were the questions totally different from what we have on our exams?
  13. by Yin Yang
She's not good at conveying, but that's why I suggested you bring up the film to her in casual conversation...lol. Prime the pump a little. I had 3 SATA questions, 1 med calculation. Tons of prioritization and endocrinology. It was about the same with the other 2 guys that took it with me. The SATA questions were easier than what I've seen in the NCLEX books, and the questions were pretty much like what we've had at school. The NCLEX though was almost completely 4th semester stuff! I didn't have even 1 maternal/neonate question, and only 1 pediatric and it wasn't even directly a pedi question. Pay attention this semester! You'll do fine!

    Yang, RN (hehe...still pretty)
