So do we wind up with 3 grades at the end of the semester, or only two?

Wowsers, I'm exhausted. I started a new job today in downtown Fort Worth. That's a LOT of driving. And, I still need to do my reading for tomorrow.

    Jaxia,

We end up with 3 grades - 1 for lecture, 1 for pre-clinical / clinical, and 1 for 1119 skills (starts in week 4) lab. For MY class each skill check off for pre-clincal counts 10% and there are 3 so they only account for 30% of total grade.

How is new job? Did you get the $$ straight with them? Too bad those books on CD that came in your box won't read out loud to you...would be nice on that long drive.

There are free text-to-speech programs out there, but you have to spend time manipulating the pronounciation and pauses, etc.

I found good to listen to the lectures over and over, or a recording of me reading the notes.

    Thanks for the clarification, Amy.

The job went okay, but the commute is killer! It took me an hour and a half to get home. Bleh!

I might have to try recording the notes like that to see how it works for me. Usually car time = talk on the phone time Finding some way to study would be much better!

    Jaxia,

Maybe you will eventually figure out how to convert it so you can put it on your IPod. I'm using the recorder on the train. Does it take a special software to convert it? Maybe my computer can handle it...maybe not, I don't know. I'll e-mail today's lecture to you a little later today. The enrichment was a little blah. Next week she said she will do a "review of sorts". Going through the syllabus and identifying important areas with some examples. I got a new BP cuff a the scrub shop at the outlet mall. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

That might be the best way to listen to lecture -- so I can fast forward through the annoying stuff!

Annoying stuff? Why, whatever could you be talking about? Certainly you wouldn't skip through parts with people talking about their insulin pumps would you? Because I'm sure that would be soooo interesting!!!

I have not been very industrious this weekend. Too much going on. We have skills checkoff tomorrow, so I did practice that a couple of times. Good luck to you guys on your skills checkoffs!

Good luck Jaxia and Yang on skills check off tomorrow. I am curious to know how it goes. I have mine on Tuesday and then lecture test #1 on Wednesday.
