Don't you hate the arrogant students?

Nursing Students General Students

Published

Today was the nurse orientation. Some of the students in the orientation came off as very arrogant to me. The funny thing about it, is that I did not see them as special or better. To tell you the truth, I do not even find them attractive. They were looking at me like I was inferior or something. WTF? The women there were not even attractive and judging from how they acted, I would not even date them. The cool students and the good looking students did not come off that way as they did. I hate those arrogant students. They should get a reality check.:angryfire

LOL! Is that your pug on your picture? Love it!! :chuckle

Naw, just found the pic by accident one day, looking for a picture to go on the front of my grad announcements. :D

(What happened to the OP, BTW?)

Sounds like YOU are the arrogant one.

I'm sorry, but the more I read the OP, the more I'm :rotfl:

I'm very curious now - just how old ARE you?

Care to post a picture so we can judge for ourselves whether you're one of the cool ones, or the good looking ones, and whether or not you have a right to be arrogant? :rotfl:

That would be quite judgemental of us if he/she/it/they did that. We wouldn't be any better in attitude.

I was being facetious. I personally don't judge people on their appearance.

I read your post three times and I still can't tell whether you're upset because the women are really arrogant or because you felt that they should have displayed more interest in you. Relax, and don't be so self-conscious. One thing you'll find as you progress through nursing school is that you don't have time to focus on who's cool, who's goodlooking, and who's dateable. Heck, you'll find that you don't even have time for your own self. There's nothing to be gained from being defensive and judgmental, and its ALWAYS a bad idea to form opinions about people you really don't know. Get past the physical stuff and introduce yourself to some of these women. Don't be surprised to find that you were totally wrong about them.

be careful though if they start asking you for your class notes... :chuckle

If you're just starting school now is the time to learn about teamwork. Which, as you progress, grow and mature, will save your butt countless times.

Those who work well together are those who respect each other professionally. There will come a day when you will find yourself in a situation you can't handle and the ones that foucsed on studying, working and getting the most out of school will save your behind. Because you just gave Vicodinto your patient who is now having a bad reaction because you didn't tell the brand-spanking new resident on July 3rd that the patient was allergic to codeine, and now you patient is crashing. You were too cool to bother with anything as trivial as 'allergies'.

If I were in your shoes, I'd get over myself pronto, because someone else's life depends on your ability to know what you don't know.

I do not even want to be friends with them or associate with them. They are a group of them, mostly women and some guys. They all know each other somehow. I prefer to be friends with the cool and good looking people.

I am not the arrogant one. I did not look down on anyone in the orientation because I am secure about myself and I don't need to look down on people to feel better about myself like they did to me. We are all there to reach a goal and to graduate. The arrogant ones should be the cool and good looking people but they did not act that way. I was upset because these below par people thought they were "all that!" Sometimes you can sense how a person is by how they act and look at people.

OK...

Did you even read the other posts on this subject? I'll leave this alone. You sound very young and inexperienced imo.:uhoh21:

They probably feel the same about you.

I prefer to be friends with the cool and good looking people.
Then you're going to miss out on the GREAT people, and that's really sad.

I am not the arrogant one.
I'm glad you clarified this, :rotfl: .

Your post looked down your nose to them. Who's really the insercure ones in your scenario here?

The arrogant ones should be the cool and good looking people but they did not act that way.
Probably because you chose to see them the way you wanted to see them.

Sometimes you can sense how a person is by how they act and look at people.
Now ain't THAT the truth!!! Would you like a shovel?
