As a guy, when I see a woman wearing a big rock on her finger as she gets into or out of her 6 yr old Toyota I don't think, Wow! Her (whatever) must really love her. I normally think, I wonder what he did that he is trying to make up for, or, who is she desperately trying to impress? It is even better if she has a Coach bag and Gucci sunglasses.VictoriaMareah likes this. - Jun 18, '12 by Ruby VeeQuote from rnsrwegetting robbed was the last thing on my mind when we went to the movies that day in december. the robbers took everything under the christmas tree, my brand new camera out on the dining room table with the owner's manual (i was figuring out how to use it) and the entire contents of my jewelry box including my grandmother's engagement ring and my mother's jewelry. some of the jewelry my husband has given me over the years was insured, but there is no way to insure the sentimental value of grandma's engagement ring.hiding spot? nope, just in the jewelry box....or, sometimes, i put it/them on a little hook near my kitchen sink if i've got them on and plan to work in there. to be honest, i have some much more expensive pieces of jewelry as well as some extremely sentimental pieces that i'd be heartbroken to lose, and i'm not going to hide them all. i have more than one jewelry box, but they're all near each other, so if i'm going to get robbed, well, i'm going to lose alot. however, i don't live in an area known for much crime at all, so it's not an overriding concern. while it's true anything can happen, i like my odds

when going on vacation, i hide my stuff in a rather unique place that's anything but convenient to get to, lol, so i know my jewelry would be the last thing walking out the door if it came to that.
we were the first in our area to be robbed and three years later are still the only ones in our area.

It's really a no-win situation.
Paranoid people who own expensive jewelry ought to just wear it. - Jun 18, '12 by GrnTeaI wear two heirloom rings, one an engagement diamond and one with a large colored stone. It would absolutely kill me if I lost them when my house got burgled or burnt down so I put a small safety pin on every one of my bras and pinned them there whenever I did patient care. advantage was that if I forgot to take them off before I left the house, the pin was right there!
- Jun 18, '12 by learning as i goI had my wedding band and engagement band "unsoldered" so that I can leave the clunky diamond at home and still wear my wedding band. I wear both when I don't have clinicals.
- Jun 18, '12 by MySonIsAdorableI go to a VN program, the wont let us wear anything execpt a plan wedding band, and thats only if you are actually married. I think the idea of purchasing one for work/school is a great idea!
- Jun 18, '12 by iluvpathoQuote from >JustBreathe<I have to ask-do you watch Nurse Jackie?I'm starting an ADN program this Fall and I do not want to wear my wedding rings to clinical. Don't want to risk losing a diamond or having it rip open a glove (or getting caught in a glove and accidentally thrown away). Not to mention the bacteria it may harbor.
If you don't wear your rings, what do you do with them during clinical??
To answer your actual question, yes I wear my wedding ring but its just a solid white gold band and there's no diamonds in it (I'm a simple kinda girl
I probably wouldn't if I had a traditional ring, ugh I wouldn't want to contaminate something so precious with God only knows what. Of course certain areas you could probably get away with wearing one without much worry, of course my school does tell us you can wear wedding rings to clinical.

Wait I drive a 8yo Toyota LOL. That think is like a tank has NEVER broken down hence I keep it.
But it could be some loved her past tense and she just kept the ring. Funny Toyota ring story. I knew someone that spent a lot of money to buy herself a fancy engagement ring. Yes for herself. She drove a 20 yo Toyota with spinning rims. Oh yeah and she couldn't afford a bed.
