Do you have a lot of Debt to pay off

Of course everyone has SOME student loan to pay off. But what is the average debt load?

I am thinking of going to further school for an ADN. It will be at least 2 years.

I know that it will cost me a MINIMUM of 20 k.

20K for an ADN degree?? I just got accepted to an ADN degree in a community college and the total cost is going to be 6-7K. 20K will seem like the cost to get a BSN degree or even a 3/4 the cost of a masters degree

Um that's pretty cheap seeing as pre rews are atleast 45 credits and the program is 36 credits at my cc.. rhats 81 credits @ 117$ a credit 9477$ plus I took living disbursements every semester of 3000$ because I was single unemployed and out of a job .. adds up if you need to go that route but its worth it regardkess in the end good luck!

not_a_hat_person, so do you only have your lpn and not rn? if so can you tell me how long your school loan was and the approx monthly payment? Im looking at getting my adn and its bout $20,000 all together. Also, was it worth taking out that much of a loan for your lpN?

this is highly variant depending on where you live.....a state school where I live a 4 year degree will cost you around $11,000.00 a year

I'll have about $50k of debt when I graduate in May with my ADN. Granted, a good chunk of it came from when I went to a university for a year and did extremely poorly, then had to make up for it by retaking those classes. Complete waste of money, but a good wake-up call. Ah well. I already have so much debt, I may as well keep going right after graduation, defer my payments, and get my BSN right away! ;)

Yeah, I'll have debt. Roughly 30k between my 2 degrees. It'll get paid though, so I'm not worried.

Thankfully i had a scholarship for my adn program and my employer paid for 75% of my bsn and 50% of my msn/fnp. So i will have about 20k in student loans but will pay off in 1 year. Definitely worth it as i love my job and i make enough for a comfortable life for my family.

There are many scholarships out there for ones to take advantage of.
