Do you all think I will regret

  1. Do you all think I will regret postponing nursing school for a semester. I have been entertaining the idea when I was thinking about my future intense schedule. I will have 5 classes fall and spring semester, i will be full time all summer, then i will start my program that fall (04). I was thinking of taking next summer off and doing my fall (04) semester at my current school and then transferring in the spring of (05). I know i can handle the courses, but i have some doubts. I know i will regret not starting sooner becasue i really want to, but I also wanted a summer vacation before starting my nursing program.

If you THINK you need the time, then you probably do. Take it, but don't lose sight of your goal.
    All my best to you

    MissJKim,,

From your past posts, you seem to lack self-confidence.

As in, you are afraid to continue or complete something, because you fear not being "good enough" when you are done.

YOU CAN DO THIS. YOU WILL SUCCEED. YOU WILL BE A GREAT NURSE WHEN YOU FINISH SCHOOL.

    FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS WITH ABANDON.

good luck, hon and God bless.

    Miss Jkim,
It sounds like you have made up your mind. So go for it. I just have one question...what made you want to take on such a full load? Was it because you had intentions on starting in Fall '04?

    Miss JKim:
You know yourself better than anyone here. If you think it will be to much, then take less classes. You would do better off by taking fewer courses, and getting a better grade, than more classes and a crappy grade.

I think a break is good idea for ANYONE... we have a tendancy to be over achievers, and push ourselves HARD... my break this summer has been awesome. If I had continued on, I would have hit a wall and not gotten over. I was tired form serious lack of sleep, and not eatting properly, plus I hadnt had FUN in a year OR most importantly seen my children because my nose was in a book!

You do what you think is best.. it will all work out.

    MsJKim,
You look so young. I don't know your age, but I'd go ahead and start the nursing program in '05. I am 46 and will graduate in Dec.'03. I started in 2000, but d/t my husbands heart surgeries, I had to drop one semester and I also failed one semester. Take your time, have fun and definitely take a summer vacation before starting the program. I start back on Aug.18 and am anxious about getting on with it. I took the summer off and my step daughter and her partner took me and her mother to Key West for 2 weeks. We had a blast!

Nothing wrong with taking a little break as long as you continue to work towards your goals

Well it is official. I have a start date and everything, I will be starting my program Spring 2005. March 29th to be exact. I will be attending Drexel University. I am so excited and very happy that I won't have to torture myself with extra classes and no break. I know I will definately need it. Thanks to everyone!
