Curious about your class schedule

I was recently accepted to an LPN program after applying through my community college. We have always been told it was a full time program (Mon through Fri) and don't except to work more than 16 hours a week. During orientation, the head of the nursing dept. said she decided to make the program Mon, Tues, and Thursday so people could manage a work schedule. (Tuesdays being clinical.) This would mean that we would have 2 weekdays off and the weekend. I was pretty excited because I thought I was going to have to quit my job which is only open during regular week days. This is a year program. Has anyone else only gone to school 3 days a week for a full time program like this? If not, what was your schedule like?

Your program sounds great if they are willing to change the schedule around so you can still work.

My schedule for this semester is :Monday is clinicals from 7-3, Tuesday is lecture from 8:30 to 4, and Friday is skills from 12-4.

My CC tells people you will not be able to work and do this program but when you look up the schedules on the web it shows that they have school on M & T 8-4 and clinicals on one other day of the week. I didn't know that 5 years ago or I would have applied then since my school really discourages working.

My schedule this quarter is Mon-clinical Tues-clinical(12 hours) Wed off Thurs/Fri class 8-1230 so I can work. I actualyl just got a job and an hoping to pick up another one for weekend waitressing.

The schedule I was on was for FT nursing and went as follows

Mon clinical 1-7

Tues Pharm 230-420

Wed lab 8-11

Thurs lectur 8-11

Kudos to you! Two jobs and nursing school. Very brave of you : ) Its nice to hear that people are still managing a life. With a school schedule of 3 days a week, it definitely seems doable. I know there is a ton of studying involved, but the fact that the Head of our Dept respects that we have to work is reassuring. Good luck to all of you!

you're all so lucky! I have class everyday next semester. clinical tuesday, thursday. and then pharm, nutrition, and med surg 1 lecture monday, wednesday, friday.

1st 8 weeks is

Monday~Lecture

Tuesday~Clinicals (12 hours)

Wednesday~ OFF

Thursday~ OFF

Friday~ OFF

Saturday~ co req class

2nd 8weeks is

Monday~Lecture

Tuesday~OFF

Wednesday~ Lecture

Thursday~ Clinical (12 hours)

Friday~ OFF

Yeah, you all are sooooooo lucky. I have health assessment mondays 9a-2p, psycho-social concepts in nursing tuesdays 9a-1p, Fundamentals wednesday 9a-3p, and clinicals thursdays 7a-3:30pm. I also have three children a husband and a dog....LOL I don't see having time to do a thing but study. Good Luck all!

the problem is that each 8 week semester it changes. Last semester we had M T W TH 8:30-2:30 for 4 weeks then T TH were clinicals 6:45-12:30 and M T 8:30-2:30, this semester we have class TWTH 12-6pm for 4 weeks then clincals T TH 6-midnight...
