Decreased serum creatinine can occur with loss of muscle mass and with pregnancy. It's usually found in elderly patients, so you might encourage increased physical activity in any form and adequate protein intake. Hope that helps

Possible reasons for low serum creatinine are wasting of skeletal muscle (eg: in elderly patients, ortho patients etc). It can occur in amputees because of the decreased overall muscle bulk. It occasionally happens to athletes when they overtrain and "hit the wall" (like in a marathon). It is sometimes associated with low ADH levels (anti-diuretic hormone). Finally, it's something that a normal person can just have low levels of for no good reason...in which case it's nothing to worry about.
