I think I am going to change my major to nuclear medicine techology. I really wanted to be a nurse and after this semester I had only 5 more pre- req classes to take before I could begin clinicals in a B.S program. It seems the more I think about certain things that would be required of me as a nurse, I don't feel as if would be competent enough to do it. I wanted to work as a pediatric nurse after school, but I couldn't imagine having to try to care for sick kids and crying at the same time because of their illness and especially if nothing could be done to improve their situation. Maybe, I can pull myself together and do this, it just something I have to think of more indepth. Thanks for listening. Have a nice evening.

Sonia, that sounds really interesting !! Good Luck with whatever you DO !!:)

hmmmm......i'm not sure how to respond here. should i encourage you to try to stick it out? or should i just wish you well in your next endeavor?

i'm not saying this well at all, am i? :chuckle

GOOD LUCK! :)

You need to listen to where your heart is telling you to go. Nursing is a challanging but doable field. But if it is not what you really want to do....then don't go for it. I totally understand how you feel. I am a new grad BSN and am starting to feel that nursing is not for me. Actually I realized it two years through the program but was so far in I figured I would stick it out. I am currently taking prereq's for med school b/c I want more autonomy in my practice. Even if you do go for nursing.... start in it and then decide it is not for you, I am sure you will not regret your time as a nurse. It is a very rewarding experience and will only make you a better person. Good luck with your decisions. Remember though nothing is permanent. You always will have the ability to change your mind. :)

I can say sometimes you don't know until you try the clinicals whether or not it is what you like. Sometimes also your gut tells you to go one way or the other. It is a tough call. Good luck with whatever choice you decide....
