Mar 4, '05It's one of those books you only read when you go into Chapter's bookstores. One chapter per visit... :chuckle
I did that with Jackie Collins once !
Mar 4, '05that is a really good idea!! go to one of those big bookstores with coffee shops and read it there. don't waste your money.is hard, time consuming, blah blah. not much more than you here us complian about on here!!
Mar 5, '05Quote from JudithL_in_NHJudith, I did the same. Heard about the book last year, went to the local book store to find it - skimmed through it in a few minutes and realized it was just the basics about and I could learn so much more here on AllNurses.Com...I read it in Barnes & NOble in about 20 minutes--did not feel it was much at all worthwhile and did not purchase it.
Just my opinion - Someone telling you what Nursing School is like - is like someone telling you what it's like to give birth to a Baby. They'll tell you it's painful, but when it's all over with - you'll breath a sigh of relief and be forever thankful that you did it. Each - is something you must experience for yourself to truly understand it - because it just can't be totally expressed in words. Susan - currently going through the "2nd Trimester" of Nursing School :chuckle
Mar 5, '05I bought the book, but I wished I had saved my money. It just gives the basics about nursing school that we all know: it's hard and time-consuming. I have learned way more about nursing school here at allnurses.com.
Mar 5, '05We also had a book called Test Success for Nursing Students on our "recommended" list. I forgot about it until I saw it on my shelf. Someday when I'm old and done with studying and taking the NCLEX, maybe I'll have time to read it!! LOL
I don't know how they expect nursing students to read all of this extraneous stuff, when we can barely get the required readings done. As it is, I'm spending almost my whole vacation doing schoolwork!
