Anyone attend this exhibit in NYC??

Its a display of bodies, from people who have donated their bodies to science. I think it will be either really interesting, or really creepy. Its around for a limited amount of time.

I think as a nursing student it would be interesting to check it out, see the different systems up close and personal. Im looking forward to any input from people who had the opportunity to see it.

I saw it in CA. I thought it was absolutely amazing! I would definitly recommend it.

I saw it in Chicago and St. Louis. Pretty amazing. There was a whole side exhibit with blastocysts, fetuses, etc. From 6 weeks on. It blew my mind.

There is a lot of controversy now on how some of these exhibits obtain the "donors." Its worth looking up.

Saw it in Tampa-excellent! Went to nursing school at STVH. Miss south street sea port!:loveya:

I had wanted to see it FOREVER... even considered traveling from TN to OH for it, but never got the chance. This summer I studied (Spanish) in Santiago, Chile and it was there while I was!

I went with another nursing student and one of my nursing professors (who happened to be with us) and it was AMAZING!!

Specializes in no specialty! (have to graduate first!).

I saw it in Las Vegas. It was really cool. Kind of weird at first because they have the bodies positioned like their running or throwing or whatever. But it is definitely worth going to. Especially if your school does not get the change to work with cadavers. Bodies is the next best thing.

Specializes in geriatrics,emergency,hospice.

I saw it last year in Orlando. Its amazing! It was really an educational experience. The fetal abortion exhibts made me truly sick to my stomach though.

Specializes in med/surg, telemetry, IV therapy, mgmt.

Is this the exhibit from China? It was in Dayton back in June and my brother went to see it and was fascinated by it. It was like going to medical school anatomy class, he said. The various bodies and body parts were perfectly preserved and nicely presented. Well worth going.

I saw it a month ago here in California. It was fascinating.

steph

Specializes in acute care.

I saw it last year, only because it was a requirement for Anatomy. I'll admit, it wasn't as boring as I thought it would be.

Wish this was coming back to Florida.....I didn't know it had been in Tampa...I would love to see this.

I thought that was the one I was going to see too, but when we got there they said that one was in France. I saw the one that is intended for med students. It focused more on the anatomy. We were told that the other is based more on art. I would love to see that one also.

There were also med students that worked at this one and would come around and see if we had any questions.

OP, I think you would enjoy it. The one I saw had many lungs with different stages of cancer, fetuses at different stages, and other diseased organs not just the normal ones. It was soooo interesting!!!
