A nurse's job sometimes just stinks......really. You just need to remember that your goal is to help people...in all situations. You will not always come out smelling like a rose.

Not looking forward to this inevitable day! I plan on taking a change of scrubs with me to every clinical site...Just in case!

I second the "extra change of scrubs" recommendation here. I'm always afraid on the day I don't have any extras is the day this happens to me...and our uniform is all white....>_

Working as a CNA, I had a confused patient who covered himself with his loose stools :nailbiting: It was a night to remember after the nurse and I finished cleaning him :dead: I'm ready for anything when nursing school starts this fall :up:

ALL nurses eventually experience a "code brown" at the bedside.

LOL as a CNA have already been there, have also experienced my shares of code yellows. Worst code brown was when taking care of a colostomy got splattered in the face. Luckily the nurse was in the room at the same time when it happened, there I am eyes still closed from reflex reaction asking her to get me a wash cloth as calmly as I could. Once I got done in there grabbed some more wash cloths went to the restroom and washed my face and hair as well as I could. That shift couldn't end fast enough to get home to take a shower.
