Is a Bachelors in Applied Science worth it?

I've decided to finish my bachelors in art degree at a very reputable college. I was told that since I have my ADN they can award me a bachelors in applied science for nursing. Will I be able to use this BAS if I decide to pursue graduate level nursing later? Or will I still have to get a BSN?

I don't know for sure, but I think you only could apply general courses like your History, Government, Statistic and so on from your general Bachelors towards your BSN. You still would need to do the specific nursing courses for the BSN level to get that type of degree. Any education is worth it , though, if that is what you are asking?

Different schools give their degrees different names. As long as it is a baccalaureate degree from an accredited school, approved by your state BON, that qualifies you to write the NCLEX-RN, you should be fine down the road.
