Ati Ob Test

Just wondering if anyone out there has taken the ATI (RN Edition) Maternal Newborn Nursing proctored exam??? For some reason many of us, who happen to be passing our nursing classes with B's, have struggled with previous ATI test (Fundamentals and Psych). It is a pass or fail test for us in our program, we have 2 opportunities to reach level 2. The majority who pass, pass by like 1 or 2 questions. The practice tests seem to be completly diffrent information than on the test and the sample questions in the book are way easier than the most random questions ATI places on their test. So I was wondering a couple of questions: 1. How is the Maternal Newborn Test 2. Do our instructors really not know the questions that are going to be on the test (They say they have no idea even the topics) 3. Last semester our second tests were the exact same test, should it be assumed that all future second exam will probably be the same? Thanks anyone who can help!

there is no way how to do good if you dont read the whole damn thing!

coz, you will run into subjects that were not taught in lecture (there is time to cover only so much)

take 3 hours per day and you will be done in 1 week reading that thing!

then you will be ready to blow it out of the water!

then again, your instructor does not know what are on proctored tests (as far as i know) because they are not suppose to gear teaching to that, and they cant use ATI test questions because of copyright infringement...

just read it it is not so bad! wait for the medsurge one! its is more then twice as thick!

i think the hardest ati of all is psych! if you nail that one, you can do anything!

I agree. I just took the Maternity and Psych ATI's a few weeks ago and while taking both of them, I had no clue how I was doing. I ended up scoring 99th percentile on both...somehow..!

My only "tricks" were to read the entire books and do the practice exams a few times each. Looking at the rationales was a huge help, and just remembering the ABC's and safety first!

I honestly don't like ATI..I've said it numerous other threads. I got a below Level I on the OB ATI...but got a high B in the class. The lecture grades often do NOT reflect the ATI score. A lot of people who fail the lecture tests, do well on ATI...and some who do well in lecture, fail ATI. I don't think it's a critical thinking issue to pass lecture, and fail ATI. Because I ask some people how they do well on ATI, and they tell me they just guess and go on...but who knows.
