ASN or ADN

  1. Is there a difference in an ADN program and an ASN program? My school (Ivy Tech Bloomington) uses the term ADN a lot but a diploma from them is an Associate of Science in Nursing.

I think they are both the same...Associate Degree Nurse, Associate of Science with a focus in Nursing.

ADN = associate degree in nursing
ASN = associate of science in nursing
AAS = associate of applied science in nursing

All three degrees are one in the same. They are all associate degrees that will make you eligible to obtain RN licensure. The only difference is that they are known by different names.
