It's bad enough that I'm starting the nursing program in the fall. I think that alone would cause me stress if I had to think about it. But I CAN'T think about it, because I have too freakin' much OTHER stuff I have to get through before that even starts.

I started Microbiology this past week. This is on the internet. This will last until the beginning of September.

I start the CNA course in two weeks. This will be every day from 8-4 for five weeks.

I'll have a one-week breather after the CNA course ends before I start A&P I, which will last until October.

The week before the fall semester starts, I'll be taking a one-credit, one-week Nutrition course.

There will be two weeks in late August-early September when I'll be taking Nursing, A&P, AND Microbiology simultaneously.

I'm just completely overwhelmed. For the past year, I've been taking one, two classes at a time, slowly getting me prereqs done. The most I've done at one time was two 3-credit classes. This summer I'll be taking a total 14 credits!!

Oh yeah, and this is on top of my regular life, which is two kids (6 and 4), working at home on the computer part-time, and running a home business.

I'm just completely overwhelmed thinking about it. I'm actually looking forward to this fall when I'll *just* be doing the nursing classes. :rotfl:

Just take one day at a time.

I can relate...I am also just starting Microbiology for this summer...online too....this is my last pre req for my A.S. RN degree.....buttttt, i am also taking History and Philosophy online this summer so i can get a jump start on my pre reqs to get my BSN...I'm jumping way too ahead of myself...heehee...guess I gotta concentrate on getting thru my first 2 yrs of clinicals :uhoh3:

I am looking forwards to taking JUST clinicals in the fall too, i am taking no more classes BUT clinicals....YAy.

Hang in there, you aren't alone!! :p

I hear ya!! The last semester before I started the nursing program was horrible. In all that semester I took 24 hours by going to two different schools, one of which was accelerated. Mon and Wed were the hardest because I was in school from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m.,(then I had a 45 minute drive home) and I'm a single mother. Thank the Lord for my own mother who cared for my daughter!!! Let me tell you, the first semester of nursing school was a breeze!!! I mean, ya know, school from 8-4 was wonderful. You're right, it will be great once you start taking "just" nursing classes. Plus, you feel like you're actually achieving your goal once you're in your nursing classes. Anyway, just wanted to let ya know, I've been there, done that, and actually came out on the other side! :p You'll be fine. Just keep looking towards next semester. P.S. Learn to love coffee!!!! I used to claim that it was my life and car insurance! :chuckle

I just started my last semester on Monday, May 17, thinking this semester would be a breeze.....oh man, I sure had a rude awakening! The assignments are so overwhelming. I feel comfortable with the clinical portion at this point. We have been given an assignment to do a Professional Developmental Activity. This requires finding a nursing seminar, conference or workshop to attend with at least a 3 hour duration. I have spent over 6 hours this evening looking for something online in the state of Virginia with no success. So....if any of you have any suggestions or know of anything coming up real soon....please let me know. Thanks so much........Cynthia

i totally relate...i don't know whether to :chuckle or :crying2: !

today was the third week of my 8-week class, business policy and strategy.

june 7th, i start organizational communication and management info systems, both 5-week classes.

june 7th i also start microbiology and a&p i & ii online, until august 15th.

that's a total of 21 units. :uhoh3:

one day at a time - that's the only way!

I totally agree. One day at a time is the only way to do it. I'm taking a total of 15 hrs. Class started last Wednesday. 2 courses for 5 weeks and another 2 for 5 weeks. I also found out yesterday that I have a research paper to turn in Monday for US Hist. II, so there goes my weekend.

I keep reminding myself how fortunate it is that I can go to school and that keeps me going. Just think, after the first five weeks, those two classes will be over with.....yea!!

I know exactly what you are all saying! I work full-time (40-50 hours/week), and will be starting a Microbiology class online, as well as a classroom based physiology class this summer (starting June 7th and June 14th respectively)... and additionally, am studying for the GRE! So worried that I won't be able to handle it all!?!

Yes, I can relate. I keep thinking of more things I need to do before fall. I started my A&P 1 course on Monday. It's an intensive 5 1/2 week course. Three chapters and unit tests a week, plus answering all of the questions and essays for homework. I'm glad I'm doing it though, and I'm sure I'll be even MORE glad in the fall.

I did hear about all of my financial aid stuff, plus I applied and got an additional Signature Loan. That will be sent to the school, but hopefully I'll get the overage and can use it for gas money and other misc. expenses.

Plus I just remembered I have to renew my CPR certification. I hope to do the test online with the AHA, and then go do the CPR portion in person somewhere. I'm glad they have that option. I don't want to sit through the entire course again.

Back to homework! :uhoh3:

Im taking out time to get Cpr and my licsence renewed as a CNA then Im taking up cosmetology for a year while I wait for the nursing program to accept me into the Bachlorette program. 23_31_2.gif
