Re: Anybody take the Hesi exam? I need to get a good study guide, not a crappy one
Well, I took the test today and didn't pass. Fortunately, this school allows the test to be taken twice, so I can go back in about a month and try again. The nursing program director said I did pretty well for someone who had been out of school for a while and didn't study, but she did recommend this official study guide:

This is the RN study guide, not the PN. To look at it one way, the PN study guide is only useful to us for this test. Why pay for it when we will be needing an RN book soon to get through school, since the HESI is now a standardized test that is used for graduation.
It also says NCLEX, with HESI only being at the top. I'm not sure why, but even browsing online there don't seem to be independent HESI tests. I think they are all related. I'm going to go ahead and buy this book and study from it. I doubt the tests would be too different, it should still be worthwhile.
