ANY RN nursing or pre-nursing students!!!!

Ive heard all of the horror stories of nursing school, yet im still considering NURSING as my major!
im a nurse aide and a really want to become an RN.
SO i have some questions
Why did you choose the nursing program you are/will be attending? Are there any specific things I should look for when considering nursing programs?
also, what do you believe to be your greatest challenge for completing the program successfully? please be detailed!

Location determines options to a large extent. If you have the option of a community college, I think that doing the ADN first is wonderful because you will learn skills and can practice those while doing your BSN. I would look into the pass rate of the NCLEX, as well as the number of students who apply and matriculate. Of course, if a wait list is present (likely!), you'd want to consider whether you're willing to wait. Make sure the school is accredited, of course.

Very important to me also, do your research, visit the place, take your steps toward making it happen, and along the way, trust your instincts as to how it feels to YOU...I mean, are you depleting yourself, or energized by it? Be honest, because I think that life has a way of coming to us, and if trying too hard, not right...of course, going to work hard, but it should feel good. I think too many people are pushing themselves through NS and being a nurse out of desperation, and in the end, if not meant to be or true to you, not going to work, or something will happen to make it not work....same for schools-what's right for someone else isn't necessarily right for you.
