Any luck with Michael Linares SimpleNursing

Hello I am a going to school to become a RN and was wanting to know has anybody had any luck with Michael Linares SimpleNursing program not the NCLEX75 but the monthly course for $40.00....I just want to purchase something that will help me better understand content. Please somebody say something good about his course because I really can't affort to pay for the Hurst program for $300 although I believe that would be a better course for me to purchase.

Interesting that you ask...I was talking with someone yesterday who mentioned the website to me and she said that it is awesome and that her instructors highly recommend it. I usually just use YouTube, but the reviews for the site seem to be very good.

Good day, mskelli30:

I've been lurking (for the most part) in the Facebook group, and find Michael to be professional, polite, and helpful. There are so many people within the Facebook group that report success with Michael's methods of teaching. My clinicals don't start until January 2015, so I've not subscribed to anything at this time (though I've been considering it).

Thank you.

I'm too broke to spend $$ on something I likely wouldn't use, but his free stuff on youtube is pretty helpful. This may be weird but I tend to play them as I'm going to sleep and it helps to bore me to sleep in a way and then when I wake up I can remember alot of the important bits that I make mental notes on.

I was looking into joining his site also. I wanted to join the 2 year program he had that is like three hundred and something dollars. I can't pay it all up front but on one section of the site it says "billed monthly" so I would be able to do that but then another part of the site (I think it was the terms and conditions you have to agree to) it says that you will be billed for the total amount up front. So now I'm confused about it. I sent an email through their contact page to try to clarify this but I have not received a reply. :(

Good day:

His Facebook group is very active; so you might want to ask in the group. Though, I too, would like to know if the 2 year monthly is billed monthly vs. up front.

Thank you.

A couple of times I got really sick before an exam and literally could not sit at a desk and read. So I used his free videos on Youtube and they were a lifesaver! I could lay in bed, watch and learn despite feeling miserable.

I personally wouldn't purchase the program. Everything I needed was on Youtube and money was way too tight when I was in school. Another word of caution: It's ok to use extra sources to study now and then, but keep your textbook or class notes as your MAIN source. Several of my classmates overwhelmed themselves because they were studying way too many extra sources.

Some of his stuff is very informative....I have personally found a few errors. But I guess you could say that about anyone...I just have difficulty understanding how someone teaches nursing when they failed out of nursing. He did take the lemons he was handed and made lemonade....gotta give kudos for that....;)

His free videos have been helpful for little things like ways to remember the various types of insulin. I would not pay that kind of money for his paid course/program, however. There are too many free resources on youtube and resources through my school that I can utilize. Having said that, some people find his videos to be extremely helpful, so you may find them to be worth the money.

Well I posted my question on his Facebook too and never got a response there either. Looks like I won't be spending my money on his program because there is no customer service. I do think his free videos on YouTube are helpful (the ones I've seen anyway) so I'll use those in addition to other sources.

Good day:

I'm not sure about his FB page; but his FB group is very active and Michael participates in that group extremely often.

Thank you.

I subscribed. It's great! If you are a current nursing student then this will help you with each topic in detail. He try's to explain it in a way where you can understand the subject. You can pair it up with a book, but when the book starts sounding like blah blah blah you can refer to his video to grasp the material. For the students reviewing for NCLEX, if you have taken a diagnostic exam to identify your weak areas well this program can help you by relearning the subject completely. It's hard to retain all the materials we learned in school but his videos do help. They are short to the point 5-10min videos just like the free ones on youtube. He said that 20% of the videos are on youtube and the rest in on the site if you were wondering. I myself is studying for the nclex and had already taken Kaplan, the videos do not compare. Kaplan's videos are just reading bullet points on power point with very few examples if at all. I'm not putting Kaplan down, I think there questions were helpful as far as the exam goes. But for content, simplenursing.com is for the struggling students. For those that say, some of his material isn't perfect and he has spelling errors or he's not a nurse, well i say to you, who is perfect? Like I said, pair up the videos with your book, and I think i seen a post somewhere that he recently did pass the board exam. For what its worth, if it helps you get though school or helped you retain information that you couldn't grasp by reading, or improved your quiz/test scores, or helped you pass nclex, then it was worth the investment. Good luck and God Bless
