I plan on taking the entrance exam in feb. for a lpn program and I was wondering does anyone know of any good books to buy to study for it. I did buy one of their study guides for the math part but was wondering are their any better ones. I know it's gonna be 3 sections, one on basic math, one on reading, and one on graphs, etc.

there is a book made by the actual test makers of the NET called The NET Study Guide, and it helped me tremendously. I took the entrance exam about a week ago, and scored in the 99th percentile! I give this book 100 percent credit for my success! I am NOT very good at math AT ALL so I was worried I wouldnt even pass! The study guide has a section on reading comprehension and test taking skills, and math skills where it teaches u everything you need to know for the test. It also has two practice exams. You are supposed to study the booklet, take the 1st practice test, then study the types of problems you missed all over again(it tells you the type of problem in the answer key) and then take the second practice test. you can purchase this book for 32.50 in a college bookstore or for $27 plus shipping on http://www.eriworld.com. Also, my book is in good condition because Ive only had it for a few weeks...so if you would like I would be happy to let you have it for a cheap price. let me know if interested and good luck on the test! anyone elso who might be interested can post here or email me too, but u get first dibs ;)

Thanks, I'm interested in buying the book.

When I took my NLN, I didn't know there was a guide specific for the exam. I studied from a general nursing entrance exam book that covered all of the generally used exams. The math problems were all word problems. I sucked at the practice tests. Imagine my great delight when I sat down for the actual test to see only a couple of word problems. I was actually overprepared. The result was a high scoring NLN.

Hello!

I am taking the pre-nln in October and have a few study guides. One is from the NLN and another sounds like the one you studied from...all word problems. I have been focusing on the word problems because it seemed like that is what the test would be about.

So how did you score...like in each section?

Any pointers will be helpful...

pasha :)
