Anatomy and Physiology 2 study tips?

I'm studying at the ivy tech campus.

Ok.. There are sooo many people getting A's in Anatomy and Physiology... But I just can't seem to get an A. I've taken Anatomy and Physiology 1 two times already and I still get B's no matter what. So please help me! I'll be taking anatomy and physiology 2 again this spring semester and I need tips. How many hours a day do you spend studying? What material do you primarily study: your notes, book..etc.. Can you tell me how you got an A? Could you maybe email over the study material you had to work with? Can you tell me what your average day was like. Thanks for the help.

If you have any study material can you send it here: [email protected]

Bozeman Science on YouTube has great videos for lots of topics. My instructor shows them frequently.

studying is key, but I also found different teachers are sometimes are better at getting the point across too.

for my a/p classes, take advantage of the labs and tutoring services the school offers. and study groups!

sometimes just working through a topic with someone is greatly beneficial. try to teach other, that's the best way to learn, at least I found that true for myself. go through the concepts, and take advantage of any study guides and pay attention in class, sometimes teachers do hint subtly at the key things you will be tested on.

My best advice to students is to get the Anatomy Coloring Book and the Physiology Coloring book, available online from your favorite bookseller, free 2-day shipping from Amazon for students. These are not a joke and not a comic book, but real, good resources that my students said saved their behinds in this class.

Get the hard copy, not the online download or the iPad version, because part of the reason it's so good is because it engages different parts of your brain when you use your colored pencils to help you retain the material.

There are no shortcuts for A&P because they’re a big part of being a nurse. This is definitely NOT a course you will pass and put out of your head, because after you take it and get into the nursing coursework it will be an integral part of the critical thinking process; your faculty will expect that you remember it. These books will be excellent reference for you when you start seeing real patients. This is unlike any other education you have ever had, trust me. Get the books.

I used the coloring book for A&P one, but skipped it for A&P 2 since we had so many models to look at for lab. I used flashcards to study. The key to using flash cards effectively is not to cram whatsoever. You need to understand what it is you are studying rather than trying to just memorize for a test. I used the flashcards to test myself and make sure I can recall information.

People are usually against flash cards but it's because people use them in the all the wrong ways. If 3 months from the end of the semester you arent able to recall what the purpose of the renal system is or what different hormones do, or how the heart works, etc, then your method of studying is ineffective. Usually crammimg before tests will do this. If you pick up your cards and study for 2-3 hours every single day until test time, you will have no problems recalling everything come final and will probably just need to review a bit before the test.

Make sure you actually enjoy learning about everything too. I love the heart so someone can ask me something and I can explain but if someone asked me about the gastrointestinal system I'll probably just give a blank stare. Sometimes it's hard when indifference comes into play, but just enjoy learning and it'll stick better.

the quantity of time studying is not as important as the quality. Change up your methods so that more senses are involved. This allows the info to "stick". Methods include reading out loud, reading silently, talking it over with a classmate, taking practice tests, writing down what you know from memory---- Have you tried the Grey's Anatomy coloring book? A lot of school bookstores carry it. You simply color in as directed. Amazing how this helps retain information. Another trick is to get a volunteer, like a relative, and start naming body parts as you assess. If you stumble, write down the common term, then look it up later. Like, what is that little thingy in the back of your throat that hangs down????

I used about 800,000 index cards in both A&P classes. Homemade flash cards saved my life, and got me two A's. I also payed attention in lecture rather take notes nonstop. You have the book to review later but you can't replace lecture content.

Hi, Would you mind sending some helpful notes over my way too?

Is it possible to send notes for A&P II, I am having a lot of trouble studying for my last exam. It is over the fluid elect balance, male repro, female repro, and developmental. I’ve tried everything. Please send to [email protected]

thank you! Bless all the students

flashcards(Anki) really help. I am a visual learner so watching videos and seeing how things go together help a lot
