Amazon Textbook Rentals?

  1. Looking for reviews on anyone who has rented text books from amazon? I can't afford to buy this semester, even the used ones are super pricey and this looks like the most affordable option. I'd love to hear from anyone who has used the service
    Thanks

I only rented from Amazon one time and unfortunately my school had the wrong books listed so I had to return these. I received the books quickly and was super easy to return and I got all of my money back because I only had them a few weeks. I rent the majority of my books because its so much cheaper. Go on Cheap Textbooks - Price Compare College Textbooks - Used, New, Rental & eTextbooks and type in the ISBN number and a list of prices from different places comes up. I usually rent from Valore or Ecampus.

At Buy or Rent Cheap Textbooks | Sell Textbooks | Textbook Buyback | Compare New and Used Textbook Prices | BIGWORDS.com the website does a price comparison for you and you can choose the vendor you prefer from their list. Grandkids use this site, happy with it.

Great service! I highly recommend it. They have everything, prices are good an the books were in good condition. It's so much cheaper than buying and you aren't left with a stack of books that become worthless in a year or two. Figure out which books you feel you would need to reference later on in your career, buy those then rent everything else.

I've used amazon rentals and it's AWESOME!

The books arrive quickly - save your packaging, and all you have to do when you want to return them is box them up in that same packaging (yay recycling!) and affix your own shipping label (you can have one mailed to you, or print it, it's no biggie!). Drop it off at your local UPS store~ and voila!

I saved $100 last semester on one book - my CC wanted to charge me $130 to rent the book; Amazon charged me $30 and i had that book for almost 6 months haha.

It was incredibly convenient, going to use them again this coming semester!

Couldn't agree with this more - my fiance has stacks of books on radiology that he can't bear to part with because he spent so much money on them, and some of them he referenced maybe once or twice throughout his program.

I rented from Amazon and I am so happy i did. I was able to afford all my books without the assistance of my parents. Now for some levels my school recommended a bundle package so that we also got online resources. My most expensive package was 700 for level 2. Levels 1,3, and 4 never even came close to that. Another great thing about amazon is that if you get a used book a lot of the content is already highlighted for you, which i think is great!!!

You might also look at Chegg - Don't pay full price for textbooks which has saved my family a metric butt ton of money over the course for SIX degrees in the last decade.

Also Bookrenter.com and Barnes & Noble all do rentals. Cheap and delivered fast. Great service!

I have been using Amazon rental for several years now. Like others have suggested there are other services. I usually shop around for the best deal. There have been a few occasions I chose to outright buy a book because the rental fee and purchase price was negligible.

Amazon rentals are delivered quickly and easy to return. I recommend.

I'll just second many others, I've used Amazon and I think they're great. Everything is saved in your Amazon account (due dates, date rented, etc.) so it's easy to reference if ever needed and the return process is easy. As said already, you go into your account and print the free shipping label and throw the book in a box, attach the label, and off it goes!

I've rented every book I possibly could from Amazon. The only reason I went elsewhere would have been because they were out of stock. They're the cheapest 95% of the time, easy to receive and return (keep the box the books came in to make it even easier), and the books have been in good used shape.
