Hey everyone just an update took my first med sim quiz Tuesday and got a 100 and took my first nursing lecture exam and got 29/30 points (so about a 97) so I'm happy! I am feeling so much more confident in nursing school and feel like I can really do this!!!! ?

That is super! Congratulations :)

Although I'm not yet in NS, may I ask about your study habits? Did you study daily for this exam? Did you buy a NCLEX book for rational questions for studying ? Which book do you use?

I study everyday sometimes for hours once in a while I will take a personal day to let myself not get too stressed, they always tell us to read the book but in my opinion that is impossible it is way too long, so what I do is I have my notes open and as I'm studying my notes I will also have my book open and my notes follow the book so I fill in any information from the book to my notes that I may think is important. I will also quiz myself from my notes like covering up definitions and normal lab values and seeing if I can answer them on my own, it helps to stick. Since I am in "Nursing 1" it is basically all of the fundamentals so I rented the book fundamentals success by nugent and vital from Amazon, it has plenty of practices questions nclex style and split up by topic (and it was only $13 to rent for the semester). I found personally that flash cards were too time consuming, I believe the way I study now is very good for me and seemed to work out well. Best of luck to you! :)

your study plan seems pretty good. I also agree that flash cards are time consuming - you spend so much time making a whole bunch but do you go through them all more than once? I'm not so sure but some people like it. I hope to get in one day too. Bah, I'm taking the teas in exactly one week :geek:

Yes I agree! So for me there's no point in making them. Good luck on your teas! I go to a community college so I didn't have to take any of those tests besides the placement tests to get into the school, other than that the program was ranked by GPA. Best of luck to you I'm sure you'll get in :)
