The class a couple of semesters ahead of me took the HESI exit exam our university requires a couple of days ago. Of 71 who took it 21 failed and get another chance to pass the test.

Is it this common to fail the HESI or is the university I am attended just an anomaly when it comes to passing exit exams?

what is HESI?

I never heard of exit exams, and I've got two university degrees.

my program requires a passing score of 900 on the HESI in order to graduate. You get as many tries as you need, if you fail it, you can go to pinning, but you do not graduate- stuff not sent to BON until you pass

last semesters graduating class took the hesi and only 9 of like 30 passed it the first time..... then teh second time alot more passed it ....we have 3 tries to take it and we have to get an 850 to pass if you fail the second time u cant walk on graduation and need to take lke a kaplan at ur own cost......this time around we took it our graduting class which has like 75 people and i think only about 10-15 passed it first try..........dont get me wrong hesi is super hard but if u put ur mind to it and focus u can pass!!! some people dont care or have a bad day and get nervous but it is passable....good luck!!

I just took my exit HESI today and PASSED YEAH!!!! I don't know how many failed cause I was the second one done and had to get somewhere else, but a friend of mine called and I think only about 5-7 people out of 25 in the class didn't pass. Not to bad at all. Although I will say that was a HARD A.. test!!

To get into the RN program (Already an LPN) I am in we had to have a 900 or above, I took it before I took my boards. I passed the Hesi the first time around, and if this puts any ease to your minds the Hesi is harder than boards! Good luck. We were told to just use NCLEX review books to study for the Hesi. So I just reviewed all of the things that are a little harder for me like acid base and endocrine. If you know where your weak and study those you'll do fine and good luck.

There are some threads on the board on HESI...some colleges are using it simply as an assessment tool...others will not allow you to graduate if you don't pass it.

I took it last monday. I got a 1082 by studying the HESI NCLEX-RN review book. Check it out at HESITEST.COM or on amazon.

I am a USA student...although I try not to advertise that too much. This is third degree for me BSBA,MBA prior and I have to say the program is the most unorganized cluster f*ck I've ever seen in my corporate America career. If our nursing program were a corporation it would of declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy years ago and had it's assets liquified.....but that is just my humble opinion. Congrats on passing the HESI and getting out of USA!

:lol2: A good business related joke. I miss those. Thanks! By the way, my school has similar exams. We must pass them each semester for progression. We are not graded. We also have a big one at the end, ATI (I think). If we do not pass the big one, we do not graduate. GL.
