Ok, so I hear it all the time and I know what it means to apply-but my teacher always talks about applying your notes when you are studying for a test and I don't get it so I don't study that way. Can someone please explain this to me in an example? For like..hm..I dunno...cardiac problems? Gosh I feel dumb asking this. I just don't quite understand how to do that with my nursing notes.
Well, you have learned about the cardiovascular system and know a few things regarding heart problems, yes?
You know the meanings of chest pain, angina, MI, ischemia, tachycardia, bradycardia, arrhythmias, ECG changes, and on, and on, and on.....
Your patient is a 45 y/o male with a history of angina
. He is admitted with chest pain
r/o mycardial infarction (MI
). Previously he complained of his heart running away with him and the ECG
revealed a tachyarrhythmia
. Suddenly he was bradycardic
. The ECG revealed signs of ischemia
and treatment was begun for dx MI
Hope this helps.
