I'd do it again in a heartbeat. I love the constant learning opportunities, I love the camaraderie, and becoming a nurse really made me a more high-touch, compassionate person that I would've been otherwise. I've also had opportunities like getting published and traveling all over the world, that I NEVER would've had without nursing. There are so many specialties and opportunities that almost anyone can find, or create, his or her own niche.

That said, I too would like to congratulate rosy on her honesty and self-awareness. We could all use a little more of that, I think.

I have been an LPN for eight years. I went to nursing school after being a stay-at-home Mom and working part-time as a CNA in nursing homes for a few years.
After observing where the LTC "industry" is headed, I believe I should have gone into another field. I enjoy working with the elderly and feel my talents would have been better suited in Restorative and Physical Therapy.
No, I don't think I would have gone into nursing if I had it to do over again. If I ever return to school, I would like to become a Physical Therapist. Nance:
