I hope this will not be a problem at my nursing school, wherever I go. Actually this is the first time that I've heard of a school being so harsh on wearing jewelry.
Actually, there are very good reasons for not wearing your engagement ring to clinicals. Think about sterile gloving and having your stone tear it..oops!! Or getting it caught when you're making beds. And how would you feel if you were taking care of someone elderly and accidentally ripped their skin with your ring??
I remember what it's like to be newlywed (although it was EONS ago..hehe)...maybe you could buy a plain band to wear to clinical??
To the OP...while *some* may think tats are ok, there are still MANY that don't. Personally, I just don't think they look professional. But hey!! I also starch and iron my uniforms
JMHO, but I can't imagine liking a tattoo 20 years from now...heck, I don't even like the china I picked out 20 years ago.
