I am not sure of the actual statistics however, from my personal experience I can have intercourse on the days that I am ovulating, the days before and the days after and 5 months later, no pregnancy! There are so many factors that I am not sure you really can tell. The best thing to do is to make a consultation appointment with your MD or keep trying.

I actually think that the number is small. There are some great books on the topic!

Right... The point being that there is no one way to tell there are way to many factors for every women. I have NEVER even been asked that. I don't know that there is a exact stat. It depends if oral contraception have been used recently or any sort of hormonal, nutritional status, familial history, reproductive history ect...
I guess I am not understanding what exactly is needed because I am not sure that there is a way to tell the chances. Sorry I am not of much helpl.
Just a question... How is this going to help you get into the RN program...what is the assignment/reason your asking.

Oh it doesn't. I just want to apply in the Fall and I we were not careful one night and I was really hoping that I did not conceive. Although I didn't take
morning after pill, because I already have a child so figured if it happened it
happened. After much debate (inside my head) I think it would be so much
easier if I put off adding to the family until I am done with that albeit a big
age difference (8 years). I know I can handle school and one child, but two...
I'm not cut out for that! Well my period didn't start yet... my the early pregnancy test was negative and I'm not feeling any pregnancy signs.

For me (at 34, 36 and 39), it was 100%. You'd think I'd have learned by now.. lol

Did you end up with a BFP or a BFN? Curious minds and all...

Both my kidlets are from getting drunk and forgetting to take or throwing up the pill ONE FREAKING TIME and ovulating almost immediately (I can feel when I ovulate). You'd think I'd have learned the first time, but I'm hardheaded that way.

On a side note, I am a freak of nature...I had a missed miscarriage and had to go have a pelvic u/s done to make sure that I hadn't retained any tissue. The u/s tech freaked out and drug two or three other u/s techs into the room...I was ovulating at the time, and had five eggs coming out of one ovary and seven out of the other. I'm just darned lucky I never had multiples!

I think the chances of getting pregnant in that situation are inversely proportional to the desire to become pregnant. My wife and I tried for three years without success. A month after we gave up and I started school she started spilling hormones and 8 months later my daughter was born.

Approximately 20% on any given cycle for "average" couples.
