Nurse Re: A Poll of actual CNA wages in the U. S. working directly at the bedside

I just found out today that I will be starting my CNA training shortly. When I pass the state boards I will be making over $13 an hour!! Which is sad to say but the most I have ever made at a job.

Keep in mind that this thread is nearly 7 years old, as it was created in 2001.

Therefore, much of the information might be outdated and dusty.

Well Hi again. In the past 2 years my base pay has gone from $10 per hour to $11.15. At least it's going up! Of course gas and food have taken care of any increase. Oh yeah, where are the $35 CNA jobs?! They aren't in sunny Southwest Florida, that's for sure.

I just recently started a CNA job and they offered $8.71 starting pay. With shift differential I am making $10.21 which is still a HUGE joke!

Here in Ct Cna's make $9-$12 an hour without experience. The cost of living is so high we can barely make ends meet. LPN's make $20-$24 an hour plus shift differentials. Now that's pretty damn good.

I work for a non-profit skilled nursing facility in Seattle and make $14.35/hour plus shift differentials and good benefits.

$13/hr with no differential in a LTC south of Boston. Nearby hospitals , I've heard as much as $19/hr plus differential.
