Men intimidated by RN salary?

by ment2be

I heard this the other day and I wanted to see what everyone thinks.

* Men that earn less $ than a RN are intimidated by them and do not want to date her.

* Or ,if they are not intimidated and try out the relationship it doesnt work out for financial reasons.

Never heard that but then again RN's don't make that much.

I'm a pharmacist, which is rapidly becoming a female dominated profession, and wanna know how many times I have heard a colleague say that her husband was unhappy with her salary?

Zero.

The first thing my spouse said when I told him I was going to make more than him:

"Woo hoo!"

Men who are intimidated by a woman's salary usually have other issues that cause the relationship to fail.

My husband said, "you just go right ahead and bring it home!" No issues or intimidation for him.

I do have a friend that is a DON and feels her position and salary are intimidating in her dating life though.

I'm a married GN, and my husband makes more than me now. When we were dating, he made about half what he does now. I was a bartender, and I made significantly more money than he did (I'm taking a slight pay cut to become an RN). It was never a problem (well, except for once, when he thought I was trying to rub his face in it...I wasn't, and since we're married now it obviously wasn't that big of a deal). I'm planning to apply to CRNA programs in a few years, and my husband couldn't be more excited - he desperately wants kids, and if I'm a CRNA he can start working from home to be with them and we'll be OK with the pay cut. But then, he's pretty secure in his masculinity.
