You're not talking specifically about RN's, right? You pretty much mean any guy who makes less than the girl. I guess some guys do, but most probably don't.

I was talking about RN's but I guess it also applies to any women that make more than a man.

i almost fully support my boyfriend. although he does have a job, that money goes to his bills (car, credit cards etc...) and i cover the housing, my bills, utilities, grocery bills, etc... - and he is quite happy letting me do so, but it is a bone of contention in the relationship.

sometimes its nicer to have a man want to pay for things than someone who is ok with you paying for everything!

i think that a lot of people [m&w} feel that if they bring more money into the relationship then they should be 'boss'
i was a sahm and had a terrible realtionship with husband and this was one of the bones of contention
day of divorce was happiest day of my life

I am a new grad, but have a boyfriend that makes less than me and I know that I may end up in your shoes, almost paying for everything, even though he has a job. Im afraid that we will have problems with this and thats why I started the post to see what other people thought.

I think in days gone by females making money was a bigger issue than today. But some still by into the old fashioned idea that the man should be the provider and they get intimidated by females who make more money.

Then again women still expect men to pay for everything when they go out and I would cop a huge resentment during the dating phase if I was wining and dining someone making more than me. Just sayin'...........

If it hadn't been that, it would have been something else. IMHO.

that is true that is why i said ONE OF THE BONES OF CONTENTION
a marriage fails on many fronts and his attitude of control was also evident in other ways
CONTROL being the most important word in many marriages..it is not good for one person to be a control freak

tweety certianly has a point, if one person is strugggling to make it, maybe trying to go to school and the other is more capable of doing treating on a more regular basis - maybe they should

While not married or in a LTR, whenever I've dated in the past, I always ended up dating men that made less than I did. This was never an issue with any of them. In fact, I was the one that would get upset, if he was always picking up the tab. If I'm going out with someone that I know makes significantly less, I feel as if I should help with the tab.
